Drug policy advocacy in CANADA:

The Canadian Drug Policy Coalition (CDPC) has launched a national dialogue toward a hopeful future free from the harms of our current drug policies. Getting to tomorrow also evokes a hopeful future—one in which a new approach to drugs based on public health and human rights ensures the health, dignity and safety of all Canadians.

The Canadian Association of People Who Use Drugs (CAPUD) has a mission to develop networks of informed and empowered people who work to improve the health and social conditions of people who use illegal drugs. They are committed to ensuring people who use drugs have a voice in their community and nationally. People who use drugs should be engaged and involved in any service, policy or program designed for them.

AAWEAR (Alberta Addicts Who Educate and Advocate Responsibly) is a group of people in Alberta with a history of drug use. Through supporting each other, educating others in the community, and raising awareness of health issues, AAWEAR strives for an improved quality of life for those in the drug using community. They want all Albertans to recognize that people who use drugs deserve respect and understanding within their communities.
